NARS Sheer Glow Foundation Plus Orgasm Illuminator Equals Perfection

I'm not much of a cook, but I've got one heck of a recipe for ya...

Yesterday, my boo took me out for breakfast. As we sat across the table from each other, Graham kept gushing about my complexion. "Your skin looks amazing. Really, you're glowing...it looks so fresh and healthy." That's when I really started beaming, as Mr. Spoiled Pretty throws around compliments like manhole covers (his euphemism, not mine).

So what's my secret? Unfortunately, this time, it had nothing to do with the pregnancy hormones. This glow was a gift from NARS. A few weeks ago when I was in NYC for Fashion Week, I had an opportunity to meet with the NARS team - and I got color matched by James Boehmer, NARS International Lead Makeup Stylist. NARS gifted me with their Sheer Matte and Sheer Glow foundations in Cadiz (medium-dark with caramel and red undertones) - which was a PERFECT match, by the by.

Anyways, so my glow yesterday was the result of the Sheer Glow Foundation mixed with the new Orgasm Illuminator. Here's the recipe: mix 2 parts foundation with 1 part Orgasm Illuminator, and apply with a brush or sponge (I recommend the beautyblender). Then go somewhere where your beauty can be truly appreciated, and wait for the compliments to start flying.

Glo-oh-ow get 'em, girl.

PS - I want to take this opportunity to give a big shout out to NARS for their wide range of foundation shades. Far too often, women with deeper complexions find themselves forgotten by makeup brands. Not so with NARS. I'm so glad to have found this foundation. I encourage you to go to your nearest NARS counter or Sephora store and get color matched too. I guarantee you won't be able to leave empty-handed.

[nail] essie Mink Muffs. Milk Choc!

Who want some milk chocolate? Let's dip some melted milk choc on your nails. essie Mink Muffs a smoke plush taupe was one of the color for essie Fall Collection 2009. What's the heck is 'taupe'? Taupe means grayish brown. I don't know what this word mean till I google it. Grayish brown color was one of the hits color during the last Winter/Fall beside gray.

Oh Noooo….Oscillation again! Lancome Oscillation PowerFoundation

OMG, Lancome surprised me (or us) again! They came out something brilliant like the vibrating mascara (Oscillation Mascara) and now they applied the same concept on foundation – Oscillation PowerFoundation.

Lancome Oscillation PowerFoundation

When will it be available in Malaysia? Price at USD48.00, that's a lil pricey but I don't mind to pay for a good product just like the Lancome Oscillation Mascara (I already on the second tube).

So what it does? AIR BRUSH FINISH!

Saw Michelle Phan makeup tutorial using this power foundation as well. What I can see from the video – GOOD! Watch it HERE.

Can't wait for this product to lauch in Malaysia! When?!

Love,

Joey

Net it?

Not one to pale into style insignificance, Rihanna is channeling another new hip-hop inspired hair trend, this time in the form of a hairnet. She probably borrowed it from her mate Snoop Dog, who has trademarked the wacky accessory over the years. We kinda like it! We predict hairnet mayhem about to hit Accessorise soon....

Look What I Recently Rescued From Sephora

Now that my I'm pregnant, a beautiful thing happened. My skin decided to act like it's got some sense. Seriously, my skin developed behavioral issues circa 1990 and has been screwing with my self esteem ever since...until recently.

I used to be that girl who wouldn't dare leave the house barefaced for a night out or a special occasion. I just couldn't get away with it. Now, not only has my complexion drastically improved, but I also have that fabled pregnancy glow...and I don't want to cover it up with the full coverage foundation I have in my beauty arsenal.

So last week, I decided to pay my little friend, Sephora, a visit. Mama needed some new makeup.

I ended up purchasing:

Laura Mercier Oil-Free Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20 in Tan
Laura Mercier Undercover Pot in 4
LancĂ´me Hypnose Drama Mascara

At $42, Laura Mercier's Tinted Moisturizer is pretty pricey. But is just so happens to be the best tinted moisturizer I have ever used in my entire L-I-F-E. And Laura gets big props for the wide range of shades. Can I get a hallelujah, brown girls?

Though I've been getting more sleep lately, I've started getting dark circles under my eyes - which I never had before. The shadows beneath my eyes were detracting from my glow, so those suckers had to go. I bought Laura Mercier's Undercover Pot because after spending an hour testing almost all of the concealers at Sephora, this one reigned supreme. Undercover Pot is a travel friendly pot with two amazing concealers: Secret Camouflage (oil free and stays in place all day long to cover blemishes, scars, and imperfections) and Secret Concealer (the emollient formula combats dark circles and allows for a smooth application in the sensitive eye area). The pot also includes Translucent Loose Setting Powder, which adds a velvety finish.

The LancĂ´me Hypnose Drama Mascara was a re-purchase. I just cannot be without this product. It is my mascara soulmate. I'm sure my friends at LancĂ´me would have replenished my stock; they're aware of how much I adore Hypnose Drama, but I didn't have time to wait. My old one was, well, old and I needed a new tube stat.

In the above pic, I'm wearing another of my new favorite products: Hourglass Cosmetics' new Prodigy Lipgloss. Hourglass sent me a sample a few weeks ago, and it has been a staple in my handbag ever since. I love the sleek packaging and non-tacky texture. If you're one of those girls who loathes a sticky lip, you are going to LUVRE this gloss. It come in six gorgeous shades, but "Legend" shade is my fave...it's like my natural lips, except 100% sexier. It is also available at Sephora.

All I Want To Wear Is Trance

Add this to the "why didn't I think of this" list: the 2 Carat Cup. The handle on this oversized porcelain mug looks like a solitaire diamond ring. Lianne and I discovered this little treasure at a Fashion Week event. It will soon be available on HSN.

I'm also dangerously in love with Lianne's Trance nail polish from Ginger + Liz. It's #1 on my shopping list right now.

All I want to wear is...all I want to wear is Trance!

Red Door Spas Blogger Lounge at New York Fashion Week

Earlier this month, when I was in New York for Fashion Week, I got my hair did at Red Door Spas Blogger Lounge at the W Hotel in Times Square. My friend (and Fashion Week roomie, above), Lianne, partnered with Red Door Spas to create space where bloggers could stop - between shows, meetings and events - and relax, recharge (phones too) and get all gussied up.

Thanks to Zahir Zihani, Creative Director of the Red Door Spas, and his team (including the adorable and amazingly talented Billy Dee Williams, who did my hair), every gal left there with head-turning hair. Forget reporting from backstage...we looked like we were ready to sashay down the runway.

OMG! It’s broken, my new Shu Uemura Eyebrow Pencil

It's newly brought, used twice and it's broken! Imagine the 'pain' I felt when I saw the crime scene! Lil Jo did the crime. I brought this after I dyed my hair to a lighter color during my trip to KL, because I wanted a lighter eyebrow color to match my hair color. I bought it RIGHT AFTER I walk out from the salon.

Why I'm so sarcastic about a broken eyebrow pencil because all Shu Uemura eyebrow pencil will be sharpen by SU makeup artist when you get it from their boutique or counter. SU makeup artist will shape it into a "naginata" shape – style of Japanese sword to allow us to draw a fine line and natural looking eyebrow.

The 'naginata' shape.

Of course I can use some eyebrow pencil sharpener to shape it but it's not gonna be as user friendly as "naginata" shape. Hence I decided to take risk to shape it on my own!

This is the 'naginata' shape that I did it myself.

It's not as perfect as what the makeup artist did it for me but I have to try because there is no Shu Uemura counter at Kota Kinabalu yet and it's sound a lil over if I mail this to Candy so she help me to send it to Shu Uemura to shape it, right?! Although she said she could help.

I did a practice on the 'naginata' shaping using some normal color pencil.

This is a hexagon shape color pencil I used to do my 'naginata' practice

I'm going to get a rounded color pencil to practice!

Joey

Yea, you hear me right! I’m using GATSBY Hair Styling Product.

Oh yea, you hear me right. I am using MENS HAIR STYLING product from GATSBY! And I like it so much the styling power and the outcome, AWESOME. My hair like moving rubber!
Well, I would prefer my hair to be short if you want me choose. Reason being, I found I look younger with short hair. But seriously short is not easy to maintain, at least not like long hair what u need is blow your hair and you OK to go out. Short hair is all about how you gonna style your hair. Otherwise, you won't be able to bring out the layer cutting done by your favorite hair stylist.
See below, you will know what I mean.

I cut my hair early this month when I back to Kuala Lumpur.

This is how I look after I walked out from the salon. I like it!

This is me after shower. Blowed hair without any hair styling product so my hair end up like a normal bob cut.

That's why I use HAIR STYLING product to have this look.

At least I don't waste my money to have the hair cut and the effort of my hair stylist.

SO HOW I style my hair?

All I need to do is tell myself, there is no short cut for you to look good or gorgeous! If I going out for dinner or date with Hubby, I will blow my hair then use some hair styling product to style my hair.

For hair styling product, I have been using my hubby's hair styling product since early this year which is this. GATSBY Moving Rubber series – Air Rise which is suitable for medium short length hair (perfect for me). Not familiar with it? Do you remember the Gatsby CM, where by the spokeperson - Kimura Takuya danced like a moving rubber?

Gatsby Moving Rubber series – Air Rise

Almost hits pan!

It's provide a light finishing and bouncy look as the name Air Rise, it do raise my hair and there is no unpleasent smell but with refreshing green apple fragrance!

What I did is blow my hair first then take a small dab of the product onto my palm, spread it evenly on my hand and apply it onto my hair and hair ends. But never apply the product at the root of your hair because your hair won't lift due to extra weight at the root.

Then DONE as what you see in the next few photos.

If you hair do colapse after some time or out of the shape, just use your finger to re-style it a lil.

Found out GATSBY official website has the pictorial to show us how to style our hair with their Moving Rubber series product.

The Moving Rubber series comes in 6 types of product to cater different needs like you want spiky look go for Wild Shake (purple one); you want perm finishing go for Loose Shuffle (orange one). I like the packaging! Colourful and makes me feel good when I look at it.

Come in 2 sizes – 80g and 15g (Handy size).

As for product price, I can't remember, you can check out from most of the drugstore like Watson and Guardian. Sorry because the product last me for a year.

Love,

Joey
