Trendspotting at Tesco aw09-10

Tesco tell us they have stepped up a gear and are going for full-on fashion instead of playing it safe. Amen to that. We liked the animal-prints in pink that were all over the shop, as well as the faux leather biker jacket (we thought it was real!) at a mere 30 quid.

Adore the bow detail on the back of this gem of a jacket...

Fancy a black sequin blazer for next season? Believe us, you'll be spoilt for choice...

Fabulousity Friday

Nuclear nail colours at Pixi, £5.99 each. Amazing!

Lovely from Shades!

It was a long week, I have been spending the long week with my family. Spend more time with them but not with my laptop. Finally had some time for myself to get out from the house to get some fresh air.

I went to the mall today and get myself a bracelet when me and my sister past by a booth where they sell lovely jewellery from Shades. I think I passed by this booth a few times but never had a time to stop by to have a look. Get myself a bracelet with RM142. Each pieces of the jewellery was designed by the owner and ONLY ONE piece for each design. Yay, I am the only owner for this bracelet. We spent half an hour to look around their collection, and I was struggling to get a bracelet, ear ring or a necklace because all their designed are so lovely. My sister told me she want all of the jewellery if she able (mean her bank) to have all of them.

I already planned to wear this to work next Monday, first day back to office after a long rest.

God! Appendicitis

I never thought that I will experience this. I felt the pain last Wednesday afternoon, then I told my hubby that I felt some pain at the typical area of appendicitis and I've asked him, could it be 'appendicitis' he said "no la…" then nothing. At first, I thought the pain will go away because it was not really painful, just a minor one… more like muscle cramp or sometimes. So I went back home an continue about the rest of the day like normal… shower little Jo then watched some TV at the night All the while, I could actually still feel the pain, but it did not become serious.

My hubby did some research about appendicitis from the internet. And told me if it is appendicitis you will not be sitting there watching TV. I will feel an extreme pain. But I do not believe him so I went Googled some information about appendicitis too, and I found out that there are 2 type of appendicitis which is "TYPICAL" appendicitis – the patient can feel the pain until he/she cannot walk or lift the right leg (like what mummy and granny told us); the other type is "ATYPICAL" appendicitis – the early stage one, the patient will feel the pain gradually for some period. My thought, I should be getting the second one, atypical appendicitis. So I've decided to go for doctor to do a checkup on the next morning if I can still feel the pain.

When I woke up the pain still there. But, just like any other morning, I freshen up and changed for work, because I was thinking of going back work after the doctor, because somehow I didn't really expect it to be appendicitis. At the clinic doc did a series of examination to rule out appendicitis: ultrasound scanning, blood test and urinalysis. Result, ultrasound shows negative signs, doc also said there was no enlarged appendicitis; urinalysis came out negative; blood test showed the white blood cell count is high means there is inflammation in my body. So the doc did another physical examination by pressing the typical area of appendix (in a different way) and Yeeoouch!!! So he said it is high possibility of appendicitis then he referred me to a surgeon and the surgeon repeated the same physical examinations again. After that, he said I need to do the surgery… <skip very interesting hospital experience… blog to you all later>… I did the surgery in the evening of the same day.

Now, I am at home and resting. The doctor said the wound need at least one to two weeks to heal. So meaning, I need to stay at home and do nothing for one to two weeks!!! Can't even carry little jo… and dunno how to explain to him. Pity the little fella L. That means, more time for me for my Manicure (DIY) hehehe, coz hubby will now be doing everything else at home.

Marc Jacobs - new fragrance alert!

Marc Jacobs is adding a new fragrance to his empire. Coming this autumn, it's called Lola and 'conjures up a flirtatious warm spirit.' Never mind that, we're swooning over the bottle!

It lands at Marc Jacobs stores in August.

What we liked at the H&M press day...

Black velvet LBD and suede biker gilet - suede and velvet are everywhere!

More biker action...

This Breton tee has Alexa Chung's name all over it...

A corduroy strapless dress? It shouldn't work but it totally does. Added points for the ruby red colour and handy pockets. We'd wear it over the stripy tee for day

Not sure what happened here...

What to steal from the boys' section:
A shirt to belt over a Lycra catsuit and biker boots

A boys' sweater becomes a dress - just add tights and brothel creepers
These hats = cuteness teamed with a spriggy dress and grungy work boots
Tip! Soften this up in the tumble drier and customise with studs or a cluster of badges on the pocket

We Love This: Fluorescent PR

So much to love at the Fluorescent PR press day. From the cheesecakes-in-tea-cups that looked almost too pretty to eat (we said almost) to the cross stitch kits by Urban Cross Stitch, we could have happily moved in for the entire afternoon. Our favourite discovery was Andrea Garland's skincare products which contain no nasties and aren't tested on bunnies. But the best bit was her gorgeous, romantic packaging. We couldn't decide between the refillable lipbalm tins or the travel kits - vintage tin boxes than come with a teensy silk scarf and a selection of vintage bottles filled with product.

From the beauty cupboard...

This week we're loving:

Navaz - Body Shop's Body Butter. Two for £10... Deal!

Kerastase Bain Divalent shampoo. Keeps those lank locks at bay while nourishing the ends. Genius!

Donna: Kiehls coconut lip balm. Smells like summer and has the ultimate moisturising-but-not-sticky texture.

OPI nail colour 'Under My Umbrella'. A bright poppy pink shade that's perfect for fingers and toes - but not together unless you're Paris 'matchy-matchy' Hilton.

See by Chloe

These See By Chloe workboots seemed to follow us round to all the press days, from Harvey Nichols to ASOS to Urban Outfitters. People, they are going to be everywhere!
If you want to get the look without rocking the same boots as everyone else, we suggest these similar ones also at Urban Outfitters. They're not in store yet but they will be soon...

Stella McCartney flowers?

Spotted this Stella McCartney ad on a flower stall at the top of New Bond Street. Turns out the stall-holder does the flowers for the Stella shop too...

New Nail Polish

Went to mall with my sister last 2 weeks ago and got myself another new nail polish from Revlon. It was a new collection, got the Chocolate Truffle (Code: 916). Tried it last week, no really like the colour, I prefer darker colour (I am a big fan of dark and vampy polish). But surprisingly the polish went on smoothly with no clumps or anything bad. It flowed onto the nail perfectly. Will check out more colour from Revlon, it is cheaper than some famous brand J

Here is the swatch of Revlon Chocolate Truffle:

The actual colour is actually lighter than the photo.
Went to mall again with Hubby and little Jo last weekend, past by The Face Shop can't help myself to stop by to check out nail polish again so end up with another two nail polishes. Will try it out soon, maybe tonight J
