Carol Hannah Bridal Collection
We featured her line of bridesmaid dresses the other day, so it only makes sense to look at Carol Hannah's line of bridal gowns. Like the bridesmaid dresses, these are simpler than the normal overwrought princess gowns, with the same feminine and slightly frivolous touches CH goes for.
We part ways with our female commentariat on a lot of things (just like any gay and gal would) but we do tend to get in trouble when we express opinions on anything bridal. We wrinkle our nose at the gigantic princess dresses and silently (and sometimes not-so silently) applaud the gals who wear things that actually look like dresses and not Disney World costumes. That's just us. We realize that the social and cultural forces at play when a woman chooses a bridal gown are oftentimes overwhelming and as gay men, we're completely deaf to them (or just don't care about them). At the end of the day, it's about what the bride wants and in a lot of cases, those opinions were formed decades before, the first time she grabbed some plastic flowers out of a vase, threw a white towel on her head, and practiced her walk.
This is a long way of saying we like these dresses. They're romantic and pretty, a little unconventional, and best of all, simple. Dresses that don't actually require attendants to help you carry the skirt around all day.
