Zac Posen Pre-Fall 2011 Collection
It was a much more demure Zac Posen on display with this collection; a Zac Posen without all the theatricality. The clothes are very wearable this time around, even if the collection as a whole is borderline unimpressive. We like the hourglass silhouettes, the detailing and the (occasional) vibrant colors. On the other hand, when he's not using vibrant colors, he's defaulting to dreary darks and the overall tone can be a little severe. We'll give him credit for an unusual pick for inspiration: his muse this time out is 20th Century French interior designer Madeleine Castaing, which is both commendable and a little mercenary, given his need to be loved by the French.
And yes, that's a slimmed-down Crystal Renn in some of the shots.
